Cladding

Cladding is the process of manufacturing the surface metal layer which is melt, fuse and has matallurgically bond with the substrate.

Used materials:

  • wires and rods
  • powders
  • tapes

Sources of heat and melt:

  • gas flame
  • electric arc
  • plasma arc
  • laser beam

Methods of cladding:

  • gas
  • arc coated electrode
  • TIG
  • MIG and MAG (GMA)
  • PTA
  • laser and explosive

CLADDING TECHNOLOGIES ARE USED FOR REGENERATION OF MACHINERY AND EQUIPMENT

Layers have a high resistance to:

  • corrosion
  • abrasion
  • erosion
  • cavitation

Groups of materials used for the production of layers:

  • metals and metal alloys
  • cermets
  • ceramics
